Data Sources and Attribution

1. What This Page Covers

Some pages on PeaceOilJobs.ca, including research briefs under Intelligence, summarize public data published by other organizations. This page lists those sources, the licence or terms under which we use each one, and the attribution each source requires. It applies alongside our Terms of Service.

2. Public Regulator Data

We use these public reports:

• Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) statistical reports: ST1 Well Licences Issued, ST49 Daily Drilling Activity and ST100 Pipeline Construction Notifications.
• BC Energy Regulator (BCER) Rig Activity List.

We count and summarize these reports. Each figure we publish names its source report, the report’s own date and the time we retrieved it, and links to the source. We do not republish the reports themselves.

3. Alberta Energy Regulator Material

The AER’s Copyright and Disclaimer allows its information to be reproduced for public, non-commercial use without charge or further permission. It asks that the AER be identified as the source, that reproductions be accurate, and that they not be presented as an official version of AER material or as made in affiliation with or with the endorsement of the AER. Reproduction for commercial redistribution requires the AER’s prior written permission.

PeaceOilJobs.ca does not currently charge job seekers or employers for any service, and we use AER material on that non-commercial basis. Before PeaceOilJobs.ca charges for any service, we will request the AER’s written permission for commercial reproduction or stop reproducing AER material.

4. BC Energy Regulator Data

BCER data is used under the BC Energy Regulator Open Data Licence, which permits use, including commercial use, with attribution.

5. Attribution Statements

Wherever we publish figures from these sources, the following statements apply:

• Source: Alberta Energy Regulator. This summary is not an official version of AER material and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the AER.
• Contains information licenced under the BC Energy Regulator Open Data Licence.

6. Job Listings

Job listings come from employers or from third-party job sources. Where a listing came from another source, its job page links to that source, and the source posting is the authoritative version. How we choose, check and remove listings is described in our listing standards.
