Job description
**Lead Hand –Ticketed Journeyperson Ironworker Or Welder** **ACF (All Class Fabrication) \| Alberta \| Full\-Time** ACF is an Alberta industrial steel fabrication, coatings, field, and mechanical services company. We're hiring a Lead Hand who holds either a Journeyperson Ironworker ticket or Welder tickets. Experience in both is recommended. You'll direct and work alongside field crews on structural, mill and general maintenance projects. **What You'll Do** * Lead a crew of ironworkers, welders and apprentices on site * Plan and assign daily tasks, and coordinate with the Foreman or Superintendent to hit schedule and quality targets * Erect, fit, align and connect structural steel, platforms, stairs, handrails and miscellaneous metals * Carry out mill and plant maintenance: repairs, modifications, shutdown and turnaround work * Weld on site using SMAW, FCAW and other processes * Read and interpret drawings, work packs and the project specifications, and explain them to the crew * Run toolbox talks and hazard assessments, and enforce ACF and client safety programs * Mentor apprentices and support their training * Keep track of material, tools and equipment on site * Report progress, problems and timesheets to supervision **What You Need** * Journeyperson Ironworker certificate OR * Journeyperson Welder certificate * Proven experience in structural steel, mill work and general maintenance * Previous Lead Hand or crew leadership experience * Strong communication skills, and able to keep a crew productive and safe * Valid driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract (you'll need to provide it) * Current safety tickets, or willingness to get them (e.g. Fall Protection, H2S Alive, First Aid/CPR, Confined Space, AWP, Leadership for Safety Excellence) * Able to work in industrial settings, in all weather, and to travel to sites as needed **Nice to Have** * CWB or ABSA welding qualifications * Rigging, overhead crane or forklift certifications * Shutdown or turnaround experience **What We Offer** * Company vehicle for approved applicants * Competitive pay based on experience * Steady work across a range of industrial projects * Room to grow into Foreman or supervisory roles **How to Apply** Send your resume, copies of both journeyperson certificates, and a current driver's abstract to Brittney@acf.ca .
