Our dynamic Geomatics team is looking for **Survey Crew Chiefs** **across Canada**. As the successful candidate you are organized and highly collaborative, with strong communication skills and an infectious positivity that impacts and motivates all team members. You have a strong ability to operate equipment and field tools, with a healthy respect for the great outdoors and the timeline of the task at hand. **What you will do:** * Manage and perform field survey work with the support of Survey Assistants. * Liaise with Project Managers to coordinate field survey work, review and manage project budgets, schedules, priorities, and survey methodology. * Liaise with client field representatives and landowners and be a brand ambassador for our client. * Prepare field notes, sketches, checklists, and digital data in required formats for different audiences. * Provide guidance, training and mentorship to Survey Assistants. * Contribute to the development and implementation of industry best practices, efficient field processes and procedures and the innovative use of new technology. * Proactively participate in and support our clients safety program. * Complete office technical survey tasks as required and other duties as assigned. **What you will bring:** * Diploma/Degree in a post\-secondary program related to surveying and geomatics or an equivalent experience. * Strong working knowledge of survey equipment and software such as GPS and Total Stations (Including Robotic). * Experience of Trimble equipment and software, laser scanning and line locating considered an asset. * 6\+ years of experience in a Survey Crew Chief role is required * Strong problem\-solving skills in a field environment. * Effective verbal and written communication skills with the capacity to produce accurate and legible field notes. * The ability to develop and motivate survey staff and work well in a team environment. * An aptitude for delivering projects on time and budget. * A valid driver’s license and can provide a clean driver’s abstract; and * Successful completion of pre\-employment drug and alcohol screening as per the limits provided in the Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace **Requirements** * Out\-of\-town work (possible shift work). * Ability to carry, lift and push up to 50lbs on a regular basis. * Night shift may be required. * Ability to work outside in all weather conditions. **Benefits** * Comprehensive benefits coverage, vacation, wellness days, and RRSP matching contributions. * Wage range: $30\- $42/hour depending on experience * Tools and services to support your mental wellness * Work\-life balance * Growth and advancement opportunities * Paid professional dues * Continuing education and professional development * Use of leading\-edge technology and equipment * Diverse projects and a fast\-paced working environment
