Shop Technician (Heavy Equipment Mechanic)

Job Description

Portland Tractor is recruiting a Shop Technician specializing in heavy equipment mechanics in Grande Prairie. The position diagnoses, dismantles, repairs, rebuilds, and tests heavy equipment components. It also documents work, communicates repair progress, and supports troubleshooting and other shop departments. Candidates should have at least five years of heavy or diesel equipment repair experience, strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, and experience with complete equipment or component rebuilds. Caterpillar experience is preferred. The work involves safe use of cranes, rigging, presses, lifting equipment, and power tools, with attention to production schedules, quality, teamwork, and safety.
