NAKODA Energy Services is seeking a Journeyman Instrumentation Technician (E\&I) to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, optimization, and development of our fuel gas and monitoring systems. This is not a repetitive plant maintenance role. This is a hands\-on role for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and wants to help build and support advanced oilfield equipment and technologies in a fast\-growing company. You’ll work both in the shop and in the field alongside a strong operations and technical team — supporting equipment, troubleshooting issues, improving systems, and helping drive innovation across the business. This is an opportunity to help build something meaningful alongside a strong technical team that values accountability, learning, and continuous improvement. **The Role** As a Journeyman Instrumentation Technician, you will: * Troubleshoot and maintain fuel gas and instrumentation systems * Support commissioning and optimization of field equipment * Assist with development and implementation of new technologies and monitoring systems * Perform diagnostics on instrumentation, controls, and related systems * Support both shop\-based and field\-based technical work * Work closely with Operations and Equipment Management teams * Help improve system reliability, performance, and operational efficiency * Support field operations across Alberta and Northeast BC * Maintain strong safety and operational standards * Deliver professional customer interaction and support onsite * Support and help mentor apprentices and junior team members This role reports to the Equipment Manager and Operations Manager. **Preferred Experience** * Journeyman Instrumentation Technician certification required * Broad oilfield E\&I experience * Strong troubleshooting and problem\-solving ability * Experience working independently in both shop and field environments * Strong communication and organizational skills * Ability to work directly with customers professionally * Experience with oilfield equipment, controls, instrumentation, or automation systems * Experience with SCADAPack, ROC, communications, or automation systems considered an asset * Willingness to mentor, support, and help develop apprentices and junior team members * Valid driver’s license Experience with fuel gas systems, monitoring systems, or advanced automation technologies is considered an asset. **Who You Are** You are: * A strong problem solver * Humble and team\-oriented * Independent and dependable * Organized and professional * Technically curious and eager to learn * Comfortable in both shop and field environments * Someone who takes pride in doing things properly You enjoy variety, learning new equipment and technologies, and being part of a strong culture with high standards. **Compensation \& Benefits** * Competitive compensation program * Monday–Friday 5\-on / 2\-off schedule * Mix of shop and field work * Health benefits * Dental coverage * Vision care * Paid time off Minimal overnight travel required.
