Labourer - Summer Student

**ROLE** Surerus is looking to hire a Labourer to support operations over the summer in our Fort St John location. You'll be responsible for general support on a variety of tasks within the Fort St John Shop and Yard. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** * Comply with Surerus Safety practices and procedures * Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment * Assist tradespeople and machine operators as needed * Perform various general labour activities, such as: + Housekeeping in and around the shop and yard + Clean up of garbage and debris as required + Manual material handling + Operator lawn mowers and whipper snippers + Operate hand and power tools *Note: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.* **POSITION REQUIREMENTS** ***Qualifications*** * High School diploma completed, or in progress * Eligible to work in Canada * Between ages of 17 and 24 * Reliable transportation to and from work ***Experience*** * Previous experience in general labour within an equipment repair facility is an asset. ***Skills \& Knowledge*** * Self\-starter, with problem solving skills and adaptability. * Ability to lift heavy objects (50\+ lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks * Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team * Safety conscious and aware of job site protocols * Punctual with a strong work ethic * Excellent communication skills **WORKING CONDITIONS** This position is based in our Fort St John shop and yard. Must be able to work 8 – 10 hour days, 5 days a week. Successful completion of a Pre\-Employment Drug and Alcohol test is required as a condition of employment. Steel\-toed boots are required for this position. **COMPENSATION** The hourly rate for this position is between $18\.00 \- $22\.00 per hour, dependent on the candidates skills and experience. *We thank all applicants in advance.
