We are seeking a skilled and motivated **Heavy Equipment Technician** to join our growing team. What You’ll Be Working On You will perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on a variety of heavy construction and earth\-moving equipment including: * Excavators * Dozers * Road Graders * Articulated Haul Trucks * Pipe Layers * Heavy Trucks * Other related construction equipment Brands may include: * Caterpillar * Volvo * Komatsu * And other major equipment manufacturers Work assignments may be provided verbally or through written work orders; however, you will be expected to independently assess equipment issues and determine the extent of required repairs. **Key Responsibilities** * Inspect, diagnose, repair, and adjust heavy off\-road equipment * Perform electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostics * Complete mechanical repairs in both shop and field environments * Respond to road calls and emergency repairs when required * Repair and maintain: * Cooling systems * Lubrication systems * Mechanical transmissions * Drivetrains and final drives * Pumps, compressors, generators, and winches * Install and align engines and machinery * Perform incidental welding operations * Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance * Complete routine maintenance and preventative maintenance services * Accurately complete work orders, service reports, and time cards * Maintain detailed maintenance documentation * Mentor and assist apprentices when required * Maintain current knowledge of new technologies and repair techniques * Follow all workplace safety policies and procedures * Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or injuries promptly * Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve efficiency **Additional Responsibilities** * Perform all related field work as required, including occasional travel to client locations to complete on\-site service, inspections, installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, training, and operational support activities * Provide professional and timely customer support while working at client sites * Ensure all field service work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards **Travel Requirements** * This position requires the ability and willingness to travel occassionally to customer and project locations * Candidates must be comfortable working at various client sites and remote locations * Overnight stays and extended travel may be required based on operational demands, project schedules, or customer requirements to ensure the successful completion of assigned work **Core Competencies** We are looking for someone who demonstrates: * Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills * Mechanical aptitude in hydraulics and electrical systems * Accountability and dependability * Quality workmanship * Excellent time management * Strong organizational skills * Team\-oriented attitude * Problem\-solving abilities * Professionalism and integrity * Ability to work under pressure * Adaptability in a fast\-paced environment **Qualifications \& Requirements** * Completion of an Off\-Road Journeyman Program * Minimum 7 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician * Valid driver’s license * Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems * Ability to read schematics and perform diagnostics * Experience performing routine maintenance and repairs * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Computer literacy and ability to complete digital documentation * Highly flexible with strong interpersonal skills * Willingness to work overtime as required * Appropriate trade credentials and certifications **Working Conditions** * Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs * Shop and field work environments * Travel to off\-site locations may be required * Overtime and after\-hours work may be required * Exposure to hazards associated with the heavy equipment trade * Required PPE includes: * Steel\-toed boots * Safety glasses/goggles * Other required safety equipment **Why Join Us?** * Competitive compensation * Overtime opportunities * Stable, long\-term employment * Diverse and challenging work * Supportive team environment * Opportunity to work on industry\-leading equipment * Ongoing learning and development opportunities If you are a dedicated Heavy Equipment Technician looking for a rewarding opportunity with a strong team environment, apply today.
